Century City Area Hotel Customer Reviews

I am a frequent business traveler, but this particular trip was personal.
My stepfather had a major cancer surgery, and in the end was at UCLA
Medical Center for nearly 30 days. Although they live in Long Beach,
I didn’t want my ailing Mother driving in LA traffic to UCLA every day,
particularly under such stressful circumstances.

Initially I left a message for the manager of this hotel to discuss a week long stay for my Mother which would include some special needs. Not only did he call me back on his day off, he offered to do anything within his power to help our family…his words “this should be the least of your worries during this difficult time”. His words and kindness touched me deeply. As the weeks past, and my Mother’s stay lengthened day by day, the hotel staff continued to show their kindness and concern for our situation.

My husband and I stayed here for a week while sorting out my visa at the within walking distance British Embassy. You cannot beat the price, the place is spotless, the staff is friendly and helpful and the location (right off the highway yet not noisy) is superb. The corridors connecting rooms overlook a central courtyard, so it has a nice, open, airy feel. We'll be staying with them again.
I have made Holiday Inn my first choice when traveling on business for the past 7 years. But now I have more reasons than ever to choose their chain. They are not only a business partner, but more importantly I consider the Holiday Inn family a friend.

Everyone we spoke with, from front desk, security and breakfast maid was nice and helpful. The room was extremely clean and had a modern feel. The bathroom was oversized. Breakfast is nice, outside with heated columns for any chilly mornings. The nook where breakfast is served is closed off from the outside. Great breakfast!!! This place is conveniently located and a bargain by LA standards.

The Holiday Inn Express West LA is a boutique hotel with a great location. We’re only a few miles from Century City shopping and marketplace and Santa Monica beaches. But our location just scratches the surface of what we offer. The following satisfied guests can attest to our other attributes.

Los Angeles: Holiday Inn Express West Los Angeles: "Great Hotel, Great Location"

This is not a luxury hotel, but it is a very functional hotel with a great location. It just became a Holiday Inn Express (possibly previously a Best Western) and has been completely renovated. The rooms are small but very functional, compact, and cute. All rooms have a micro fridge and free high speed internet. All rooms entrances face a courtyard and security was not an issue. There is NO pool. Best of all, parking is free and easily accessible. The hotel is near to many popular attractions and is right off the 405 on the Santa Monica Boulevard. The complimentary breakfast buffet is even more sparse than the usual Holiday Inn Express fare. Staff was very friendly.
I stayed there a total of 5 nights, over two weekends. If I am in the area in the future I would most likely stay there again.

Los Angeles: Holiday Inn Express West Los Angeles: "no complaints!"

Visiting a convention in LA, we stayed there for one week. The room had air-conditioning, fridge, tv and a decent-sized bathroom with a good shower and a hair dryer. We found the location very convenient, two traffic lights from 405 south and one from 405 north. It was also very easy to find a parking spot from the underground parking every day. Wired internet connection was $5 for the whole stay and the setup didn't require any effort. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel there was 7-11, a gas stop and Subway. The open-air corridor was a bit frightening at first, but overall this hotel felt like a safe place to stay. Breakfast serving was rather limited by European standards but I guess that's what you get for that price on that side of Atlantic. UCLA Westwood campus was very close, so if one is to go there repeatedly this is a very convenient place to stay.
Los Angeles: Holiday Inn Express West Los Angeles: "Clean, fairly basic, good price"

We were looking for somewhere clean and safe and not too expensive - spent hours trawling this site and were put off many hotels after reading comments about noise, or rock-hard beds or dirty rooms! This Holiday Inn express  is fine - perfectly OK rooms with everything you might need (including an iron and a fridge). There's no bar or luxuries and it's not in a pretty location but who cares?! Unless you're planning to spend lots of time in your hotel this is fine. Free parking is a great bonus. The location on Santa Monica Blvd (I disagree with a previous reviewer - this is NOT in the centre of SM, but about 15 mins drive east) is convenient for either central LA or trips to the coast and of course makes the hotel REALLY easy to find (it's right by the 405 too - just look for the intersection and you're there). The staff were pleasant and helpful. We would certainly stay there again.

Rooms obviously refurbished recently. Moderately sized, well-appointed and very clean. Easy on-site parking. Convenient to Santa Monica, Century City, Westwood, just off I405. Two sides face away from any traffic noise. Very friendly staff. An excellent value under $165. More than adequate for 2 night business stay.

About 100 yards from the 405, but traffic noise did not seem an issue. Anyway, it was very convenient to get to Santa Monica, Universal etc.

The staff were very helpful when needed.

The hotel has a nice little courtyard and breakfast area.

First impressions when coming off the freeway are not great, but don't let that put you off.

I really liked Santa Monica pier, by the way. It's like the piers in the UK, only with pretzels and sunshine.

Exceptional staff - easy access to UCLA - convenient parking

TMy daughter and I drove in from Phoenix to look at universities. This hotel is ideally located - an easy commute to USC, UCLA, and Pepperdine.

We arrived about noon and we discovered that we had a flat tire. This would have surely caused us to miss our appointment if not for the Holiday Inn Express West LA staff. It was great to just pull into the parking garage and get off the street. When I discovered that we had no jack or lug wrench the desk manager was quick to help us. He directed us to a service station that could fix the tire and then the staff took over. I found some new friends! The Amaury Rodriguez and Romy Starre went way beyond what anyone could have expected to help us. They found a jack and wrench in almost no time and went to work on changing my tire. These folks made my problem theirs and helped us get back on the road. This is a real great bunch of folks!

The hotel's location it is centrally located and close to all landmarks and beaches we visited, which was great as we did not have a vehicle. We travelled everywhere using local transit. All the places we visited were easy enough to get to from our location. The Santa Monica Beach is just a short bus ride away by #1 Blue Bus where the tide shuttle also took us to Venice Beach with ease. The freeway being nearby did not present a problem for us as far as noise. The room was clean and the service was very good. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, providing information and assistance when requested. We had a most pleasant 5 day stay.

They have done a decent job remodeling the rooms. Nice updated look. It's hard to find an updated hotel room in LA at this price. Would definetely recommend. We have stayed at nearby hotels for the same price and they have been pretty ugly! Service was friendly also

“This was the place to stay! For a safe clean area of LA, we got great rates (it MAY have had to do w/the time of year (Feb) and the group size (8 rooms) but we got rooms for $99/night, which was well w/in my business budget). Having to navigate around LA for the first time in a van full of travelers wasn't tons of fun, so it was quite a relief to find the hotel RIGHT off the expressway. It had free underground parking and, and I couldn't hear traffic noise from my room (although I faced a gas station and 7-11). Rodney was pleasant and helpful thru my booking and upon our arrival. The only caveat is that, w/group travel, the woman working at the desk upon our arrival just gave me a bunch of keys to a bunch of rooms, and I had to assign people and make a list of room #s, even though I'd given a rooming list to Rodney before arrival. But that was quickly taken care of and we enjoyed a nice 2 nights there. The rooms technically have exterior corridors, which isn't my fave, but they're exterior into the hotel's courtyard, so I actually forgot that they were outside - it felt like a normal interior corridor hallway. We didn't use the courtyard or hot tub (it was rainy when we were there) but they looked really nice. The rooms were nice sized and nicely decorated, and I had a fridge in which to store my pint of Haagen Daz after a run across the street to 7-11. There's a couple restaurants w/in walking distance and I believe they all deliver to the hotel as well. They're making some improvements so the fitness room wasn't available (but we were too busy anyway) and breakfast is temporarily held in the lobby, which we bombarded w/our group of about 15 people but, after the 1st morning, Rodney offered to beef it up so we could have some more food to get us on our way for our mtgs. We think we'll make this trip an annual event w/our group and it will be easy to make arrangements next year b/c we'll make plans to stay here again”.

Good hotel in a great location. Right off of I-405 and Santa Monica Blvd.
I am very likely to return to the Holiday Inn Express.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
